In need of some travel inspiration? Who isn’t? You could spend money on travel guides and hope for the best. But let’s be brutally honest here, guide books can’t bring a destination to life like a travel blogger can (sorry Lonely Planet!) As a blogger myself, there’s nothing I enjoy more than finding new travel bloggers to follow. I admire their drive for adventure and their ability to create amazing content as they go.

So I’ve put together a list of my favourite travel blogs and the amazing humans behind them. There’s something for everyone including solo female travellers, photographers and the most inspiring travel couples on Instagram.

In no particular order, here are the top travel bloggers you need to follow in 2022 and beyond. Get ready for some serious wanderlust.

Top Travel Bloggers You Should Be Following

Yaya and Lloyd from Hand Luggage Only have set the travel blogging bar high. Every photo these guys post is absolutely stunning and their blog speaks for itself. I came across Hand Luggage Only whilst searching for places to visit in the UK and I’m really glad I did! Their enthusiasm for travel comes across so well in their content and I love how natural and chatty they are on their Youtube channel.

I think Abbie is living most (if not all) our travel dreams put together! Her Instagram grid is stunning – it’s full of beautiful photos and moments from her adventures over the last few years. What I love about her blog (aside from it looking lovely) is that the posts are so conversational and helpful for budding travellers. She covers everything from must-have apps and gift ideas to flight essentials and sustainable travel.

3. Charlie Pauly

Charlie never fails to make me laugh. I’m sure all his followers would agree that his energy and zest for life is truly infectious. I admire him for always seeing the positive side of things and expressing gratitude for what he has. Whether he’s venturing off around the world or living it up in London, his content is nothing short of awesome. I use his destination guides and vlogs for my travel inspiration – you should too!

I had the pleasure of meeting Charlie a few years ago at a blogging event in London. She’s a real expert when it comes to short-term travel and making the most of a destination. One thing that’s always stuck out to me is how driven and motivated she is as a travel blogger. Whether she’s writing about the UK or other exotic destinations, I really appreciate her honest, no-frills approach.

Another gorgeous travel couple that never fails to make me smile. Husband and wife team, Alex and James create some of the most beautiful travel content out there. Seriously, it seems there is no end to their amazing talents! Their photos and short films are spectacular and to top it all off, they are genuine people with a great sense of humour. Check out Twosome Travellers for some wanderlust envy (you’re welcome!)

6. Natasha Atlas

Ever since I first started following Natasha, I’ve admired her for being so open and honest about her mental health. She’s a true inspiration and someone who doesn’t let fear stop her from seeing the world. I love how she talks about her anxiety and the effect it has on her travels, both good and bad. As an anxious traveller myself, I find her content so relatable and refreshing.

7. The Ginger Wanderlust

I first came across Ellie’s Instagram during lockdown in 2020 and I’ve loved following her travels (and excellent photography tips) since. She has a fun, bubbly energy and posts some great tips on things to do, places to eat etc in each location she travels to. If you like relatable, happy travel guides and inspo then The Ginger Wanderlust is the blogger for you!

Like a lot of the other bloggers mentioned in this post, I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Ellie (yet) but I look forward to the day I do.

What this guy doesn’t know about travel just isn’t worth knowing. I feel as if he has a celebrity status in the travel blogger world and for good reason too! Matt Karsten of Expert Vagabond has been exploring the world and sharing his travel tips for nearly a decade. Alongside working with top brands like GoPro and Lonely Planet, his blog has some great advice on everything from budgeting and photography to adventure travel and digital nomad living. His wife, Anna Everywhere, is also a travel blogger (talk about a power couple!)

9. Adventurous Kate

I found out about Adventurous Kate after I attended one of her travel talks last year. Much like Expert Vagabond, she’s travelled the world (and written about it) for nearly a decade. Her blog is dedicated to helping women travel safely, particularly solo female travellers. I love her story about how she quit her 9-5 one day to travel alone and just never went back. That’s the daydream, right? If you’re looking for amazing stories, solo travel tips and destination guides then Kate is your blogger!

One of the most successful travel bloggers I know of! Matt is a big deal in the travel community (so you’ve probably already heard of him) but I wanted to feature him because I find his blog so straight forward and inspiring. I love that he invites guest writers to blog about important subjects like solo female travel and safety tips, as well as thought-provoking stories from other nomads. He specialises in helping people explore the world for less with hacks for pretty much anything to do with travel. If you’re wanting to travel alone for the first time or planning an around the world trip, I’d highly recommend checking out Nomadic Matt’s work.
